Educator’s Guide to Black Bears:
The future of this Texas native depends on protection of vital habit and public education and awareness programs. The East Texas Black Bear Task Force (in partnership with the Houston Zoo and the Black Bear Conservation Committee) is proud to announce the completion of the Educators Guide to Black Bears. This guide was designed for classroom use, and each lesson is aligned with the TEKS. Students in grades K-5 will engage in cross-curricular activities that will allow them to learn about black bears as well as help them discover ways they can become bear aware. The materials may also be utilized in non-classroom settings such as scout groups, camps, festivals, and more!

 Black Bear Educators Trunks
These kits serve as an excellent supplemental interpretive teaching tool to the Educators Guide to East Texas Black Bears. This trunk may be used in your zoo or nature center's educational programming or events, as well as in the classroom. Children will have both visual and tactile stimulation from being able to see and feel black items such as skulls, paw prints, and more.
